Mixon Fruit Farms & Wildlife Education & Rehabilitation Center Inc.
Through a unique agreement with Mixon Fruit Farms and Wildlife Education & Rehabilitation Center Inc. we keep several animals at Mixon Fruit Farms for educating the public as part of the Mixon Fruit Farm tour. Of these animals some are exotic non-native to Florida and cannot be released, others are permanently injured and cannot be release while others are too domesticated to be released.
Several times a day our Rescue Volunteer Damen Hurd who is also an employee of Mixon Fruit Farms provides Educational tours of the Mixon Fruit Farm groves which includes a stop off at the Wildlife Education & Rehabilitation Center Inc. area where we have several large cages housing our educational animals. Damen provides a 20 minute educational seminar where he removes the animals from their cages and even allows tour visitors to touch some of the animals . Damen also provides the care and feeding of these animals as a volunteer duty.
